Is the Macaroni Grill in Wellington, Fl closing?
I work there and I heard a rumor that it is. Does anyone know? If so, how do you know? Thank you.

I heard a rumour that it is to be taken over by "The Tub O' Lard" chain - which would be good news as they pay very well, or so I am told.

I haven't heard that unfortunate rumor...idk if it's true but there always seems to be a relatively good crowd there when I go. Hope not. Looove the nachos!

Its great coffee that one ...

NO you have to have a computer science or specialist IT degree - Java by itself is worth nothing - many kiwis can do java and be just as qualified as you and they are already in NZ so no need to hire any foreigner http://www.newzealandnow.govt.nz/ict~174.html This is a list of required IT skills and qualifications that are in demand for NZ

Where's the best place to to find a job, Christchurch or Wellington

Where's the best place to to find a job, Christchurch or Wellington?
Me and my girlfriend (she's from japan) are going to NZ for a year on working holiday visas. We want to stay for a while in either Wellington or Christchurch.. which place do you think will be better in terms of finding jobs for both of us and renting somewhere to stay?

Deffianately Wellington, it's economy is considerably stronger than Christchurch's and there's a lot more variety and more service orientated jobs. I would however reccommend Auckland as the best place to find a job out of all those. It's also considerably warmer and most cosmopolitain.

what are you trained in/skills/qualifications/experience? or just a part time job to fund your travels? the main place to look for a job is www.seek.co.nz so have a look for yourself. there's about 3 times more jobs advertised in wellington than Christchurch on this website. Although I havent spent long in Chch, i would say Wellington is probably better for employment as it is a bigger city (altho still on a japanese scale, small) On the other hand, wellington will be a little more expensive to rent, but on saying that even places in the city centre are reasonable

Wellington is defiantly a better choice. There are so many job opportunities, and much more to do. There is a great night life, gorgeous waterfront, nice beaches, great restaurants, and shopping all within a walking distance of city center. When I was there on a holiday visa, I signed up with a temp agency. With temp agencies it allows you to work only when you want to. This allows you the opportunity to travel to see other cities or to take a night off when you want to see a rugby match! Anyways... good luck!
