I'm moving to the Lower Hutt area- I'm hoping I'll be able to surf before work in the mornings, I'm envisaging just driving 10 minutes down the road for a surf- are there any nice surfable beaches around there? I like small 4ft conditions on a shallow sandy break so ideally will find somewhere like that nearby. Thanks!!

Lyall Bay in Wellington City is the only one I know of, it's near the airport, so not that close to you, unless you worked in the city.
