I'm thinking of studying over in New Zealand

I'm thinking of studying over in New Zealand?
I'm a student from Australia, currently doing the HSC. However I have family over in Wellington and I plan to move in with them after I have finished the HSC in Australia. I wish to go to university in Wellington to study psychology full time, but I'm not sure if I am able to juggle doing full time psychology and work. Are there any student welfare benefits I can receive, and as far as living in New Zealand and university life, is there any helpful information I should know? Thankyou

As an Australian you would not qualify for New Zealand assistance financially. They are also going to make it a 2 year wait for immigrants before they can apply for a student loan...which has to be repaid. Australia already has this regulation.Jobs....you will be competing with all the other school and uni students so may or may not get a part time job. As far as juggling work and job....all the students I knew including my own children worked as well as studying. You do need to try and get a flexible job if possible....but jobs are harder at the moment with the economic downturn.
