i want to find out about my fathers birth parents can any one help me?
my father is the youngest of five kids(well he was when he got adopted out) his father worked on the harbor bridge in wellington he was half maori half pakeha i think and his mother is a cook islander from raro his father pasted away before he was born which is the reason she had to adopt him out all i know is that his fathers last name was robinson and that his birth mother tried to get in contact by writing a letter which at that time he didn't want to read it.im interested in finding out about my heritage and the way of life that rarotongans live.i have a few close friends who are part raro and im forever asking questions about that culture.my father is now 47 and is a well educated man towards his job.he also is construction man like his father as well as many other trades that he has.if anyone knows these people that im writing about please write back.i hope that one day il get to met my fathers birth mum before it's to late.im 22 years of age and have 2 boys of my own it would be good to met up or chat with my dads birth mum.

Ask this question in the genealogy portion of Yahoo Answers. They can give you some good tips. Go to your local library or Mormon library and look in the genealogy section. The Mormons are well known for keeping extensive records and family trees and it has nothing to do with whether or not they were Mormon...it covers all faiths, cultures, etc. Many libraries can provide free access to the genealogy websites that you have to pay for and work closely with the local genealogy groups in town. Ask your librarian. Do a general search of genealogy sites online. There are many that can give you a lot of information for free. This should give you a good start. Good luck!

I Need Help With My History Essay On The Battle Of Waterloo!!!!!!!!!?
We were watching a DVD on the battle of Waterloo for a history assessment and the supply teacher stood in front of the smart board and talked over a chunk of it. that chunk's the answers to one of the questions. The question is "How Did The British Defeat The French Old Guard?" The DVD said "with his cavalry defeated and the Prussians advancing Napoleon decided to attack with his elite infantry, The Old Guard. The Old Guard would have made short work of the British redcoats one on one so Wellington devised a plan. He told his... RIGHT BOYS STOP TALKING OR YOU WON'T HEAR THE DVD AND YOU WON'T GET A GOOD GRADE IN THE ASSESSMENT!!! YOU BOY, GET YOUR HEAD UP NOW!!!! RIGHT THERE WE GO.... and the old guard found themselves doing something they had never done before, retreating. The battle was won and Napoleon was defeated. Do you know what she talked over? Thanx for ur help!!!!! :)

Wellington's troops laid on the ground below the crest of the hill, out of sight of the French and somewhat protected from the artillery fire. When the Old Guard crested the hill, they were met with massed infantry firing point blank, and were sent into retreat. Hope this helps Retired military officer and student of military history

Napoleon lost for a few reasons. 1.....He always used his artillery (Guns) to soften up the enemy. Guns on mass breaking down the infantry formations. At Waterloo....he sent in his infantry and did not use his guns. 2.....Wellington had his army on the high ground, giving him greater range on his muskets. 3........The weather did not help, Napoleon the ground was muddy and slick, now he had to have his troops fight up hill in slick conditions then fight the british. Finally wellington did have his artillery in-placed and it tore a hole through the Imperial guards calvary units. Lastly and obviously Wellingtons infantry were way more schooled in discipline and Napoleonic tactics from previous battles. Napoleon would break up British box formations then pick off the unprotected infantry. At Waterloo the British forces held to their box formations, thus what every Imperial guard calvary that managed to get under the guns and survived the enemy artillery attack now had to face the fixed bayonets and lances of infantry in a box formation, the first three lines of a box formation would form into a big spiky wall protecting the infantry inside from Sabre and lancer attacks. Likewise the men behind the three lines of defence would be firing their muskets at the calvary who had lost their momentum of attack. You could say it was Napoleon acting out of character that caused his defeat, he made mistakes he would not have made in other battles.

ahahaha, very funny XD. and Ironic. Right, on to the topic. As the other guy said, they hid behind hill to gain protection from artillery. Also because british solders were on the ground, they seem as the french as dead, which took the old guard by surprise when they suddenly stood back up. Plus they were firing at Point blank. another factor was the ground. It just rained, the ground was muddy, muddy ground reduce effectiveness of cannon balls because they slow cannon balls down.

The British !st regiment of Foot Guards (commanded by colonel Maitland), were positioned out of sight in a cornfield. As the Old Guard drew level with the cornfield, the Foot Guards opened fire into the exposed flank of the enemy.Unable to return fire as Maitland's men were not to their front, those troops in the flank and rear of the French column (the ones taking the British fire) broke and ran, forcing the rest of the column to retreat (which they did in good order).

whats the best cell phone service for me
whats the best cell phone service for me??!?!?!?
i live in wellington florida i have metro pcs and it sucks in my area really bad!! i want a service that will work perfect withno call drops and no problems when people call saying they called like 3 times and it didnt even go threw to me so can anyone help me out here? anyone that lives in wellington that has no problems with their phone service =[

Ok I have moved to NewZealand (Wellington) from Australia to be with my boy friend, I had lots of friends back home and was really happy, I have made atleast one good friend over here but how can I meet more people so I am not so clingy to my boyfriend I need to change and i want to be happier, I want to be like I was when I was back home but instead having my boyfriend also.. How can a 19 year old girl meet friends.. My boyfriend has all his uni mates and I work but I am the youngest in my job everyone is mid 20's or older so I am not close with anyone.. I don’t know how to meet girls that are 19 when im not in a school invironment like uni?? Any ideas?? I feel so alone with out having the girls to hang out with and to talk to :(

well, you have to put yourself in a situation to meet girls of the same age. you're not going to meet those people if you don't go where they are.

I think that you should just start talking to somebody that you find interesting. Like if your in a store or something and your in line just start talking. People make friends that way all the time.
