Time Zone Questions. Please Help!!! A.S.A.P?
Okay, The Jonas Brothers are having a live chat today (In America) at 5pm est time, but it will be tomorrow in Wellington/Aukland regions in New Zealand which is where i am. I tried working it out and went on sights on youtube and it said that iot would be 11am New Zealand time when it is 5pm EST time. But i didn't think thatw as right so i just tried working it out again and i got that it would be 2pm. So if anyone knows what tiem it owuld be that would be a great help. WoW!! Hard physics Question!

WoW!! Hard physics Question!?
a) an 800kg car is at the top of Mount wellington (at a height of 1270m). if the car were allowed to role down the mountain without using any brakes, how fast would the car be travelling when it reaches sea level? Assume that there is no friction. b) after reaching sea level the car hits a ramp that sends it into the air at an angle of 30 degrees. how far would the car fly before hitting the ground? c) if the impact of the car and ground takes 0.1 second, what would be the force on the passengers in the car? 10 points for whoever can ive the best answer and show their working out...Good luck!!

whoa blew my mind, and i took this last year
2 :
What angle is the car travelling down the mountain?
3 :
a. The weight of the car is irrelevant. The potential energy at the top of the mountain equals the kinetic energy at the bottom. This will let you solve for the velocity. b. Assume that the velocity does not change while passing the ramp. Resolve the velocity into horizontal and vertical components. Noting that at the top of its arc the vertical velocity is zero, determine the distance that it must fall to re-gain the vertical velocity that it had originally. From this, compute the time, and double that since the car goes both up and down. Use this with the horizontal velocity to get the distance. c. Use the velocity from part a for this. a = dv/dt, and v and t are known.
4 :
1:fast work: because 2:far work: because also 3: to high to survive Because ppl r not indestructible
5 :
Conservation of energy: mgh = (1/2)mv^2 sqrt[2gh] = v = 157.77 m/s Plug this into the range equation and solve for the distance. Then use the kinematics equation and time = 0.1 to solve for the acceleration of the car on impact, with the acceleration, F=ma where m is the mass of the car.
6 :
You would need to know the angle of the mountain.
7 :
ha! nice try! trick question if i ever saw one. so much info missing, a)= what is the angle of the car?also, does the weight of the 800kg car reflect also the weight of the passengers? b)=what is the weight distribution? the angle of the fall? if it were front heavy, it would fall shorter, if it were back heavy, further away. is there any wind resistance?? again, what about the weight of the passengers?? and c)= what is the weight of the passengers? the impact resistance of the ground? of the car? is it nose diving or landing on the tires (shocks and rubber absorb alot of the impact)? are the passengers wearing seat belts (if so, what is their resistance)? these are just some of my concerns that lead me to conclude that this is a trick question.... nice try though... :-)
8 :
Thanks for such a good question!!... this re-kindled my rusted physics aptitude after a span of almost 7 years!! coming to the solution...., I have made quite a few assumptions, which I think are valid due to their details unavailable in the question! Assumptions: 1. The mountain has a 45degree straight frictionless slope. 2. Weight of the passenger can either be neglected or be assumed. I have chosen to 'neglect' the passenger's mass. Approach: I) To calculate the velocity, time & acc. components 1. Calculate the distance from the top of the mountain to it's base using the formula: sin45 = 1270 (Ht.)/ (Slope length) The slope lenght will come to: 1796.05 Mts 2. Calculate the force imparted by the car during acceleration of decscent from rest. (this is reqd. to calculate the impact force when the car lands on the ramp at the base!) F=5549.37 N (consider the sine component of 'g' - gravity for slope) 3. Calculate the time taken for the car to reach the slope with uniform acceleration from 'rest' using: S=ut+1/2gt2 t=22.75 secs is the time taken by the car to hit the ramp at the bottom. 4. Now, calculate the vel. at the ramp when car hits the bottom using v2=u2+2as. V=157.89 m/s. II) To calculte the impact force: Q=Fxt' (t'=0.1 sec) Q=554.94 N-s is the force of impact or the "moment of impact ". III) For calculation projectiles: 1. Vo=157.89 m/s will be initial vel. at the time of projectile calculate the Vx and Vy (Vel. components across X and Y axis) Use Vx=VoCos30 and etc... Vx= 137.73 m/s Vy=78.945 m/s 2. Time to attain max. hieght during projectile: Th=(Vy - Vo)/ay = (157.89-78.945)/9.81 Th=8.05 secs 3. Horizontal dist. traversed by the car: Sh=Vx X th = 136.78x8.05x2 Sh= 2201.35 Mts. Am i right?? :)) regards, Vinay

What is the most saddest news story that you've read lately

What is the most saddest news story that you've read lately?
This news story about a police dog here in New Zealand, called Blade who survived Cancer, A pitchfork attack and more than 1000 criminals who died in his police partner's arms of old age recently, made me quite emotional actually, since it reminded me of the fact that my dog Luey had to be put down last year because of a disease, which made him lose muscle tone and his hair. He was fine though, and it was mostly old age which was the reason of why he had to be put down and not the disease thank goodness. Anyway here's the news story source link with a photo of him and his handler, when he was alive: http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/4366742/Salute-to-a-brave-dog-called-Blade And the story to read here below: Blade – the police dog who beat cancer, a pitchfork attack and more than 1000 criminals – has died in his owner's arms. Since 2007 Blade has been retired, living as a family pet with his handler, Senior Constable Matt Fage from the Wellington police dog section. Mr Fage said 12-year-old Blade died in his arms early on Tuesday morning. The death, from old age, was "devastating". "He was a super-loved working partner. He gave 100 per cent at everything and just kept on going." Blade caught more than 1000 criminals, found a dozen missing people and survived being stabbed with a pitchfork and hit with a machete in his seven-year career. Mr Fage said Blade almost certainly saved three lives. In 2003 he and another officer were cornered by a man with a pitchfork but Blade took the blow, surviving because he got hit in his harness. He got a bravery award. A couple of years later he tracked down a fleeing offender in the Hutt River. If the man had not been found he would probably have drowned, Mr Fage said. He also helped disarm a man in Porirua holding a knife to a six-year-old's throat, earning a bravery award for the second time. Mr Fage said Blade would be remembered as a "proud dog". Since retiring in 2007, he had been treated successfully for cancer. He got along with Mr Fage's new police dog – Xoset, or "X". "Every day [Blade] still would go out by the dog van – every morning wanting to go. He made as good a family pet as a police dog." Blade continued to provide a public service after he retired, visiting children at Wellington Hospital. "He was just so tolerant." Oh heck, there's alot of sad news story lately eh? :'(

Darrel White stood before a judge in a faded black-and-white jail uniform. His hands were cuffed behind his back. His face was visibly pained. Attorney Herbert Freeman patted the Vietnam vet on the back as the allegations that White, 65, was responsible for the death of his wife of 34 years by failing to care for her were read in court on Friday. “I did the best I could under the conditions,” White told Hamilton County Common Pleas Court Judge Ethna Cooper. White waived his right to a trial and pleaded guilty to charges of reckless homicide and the failure to provide care to an impaired person. White’s wife left Drake Hospital in 2003 when she and her family were told the hospital had done all it could for the woman with debilitating arthritis. By then, the 51-year-old woman was bedridden after losing her ability to walk five years earlier. What happened over the next seven years in the home Jorene White shared with her husband and two adult children, one of who court documents state is an alcoholic, is a case of an overburdened man, both Darrel White’s attorney and prosecutors contend. “I think this guy got overwhelmed and gradually stopped (providing) the proper care,” said Hamilton County Assistant Prosecutor Mark Piepmeier. Emergency workers had to put on protective clothing when they went into the Whites' filthy home on July 23 and found Jorene White, 57, dead on the floor. Her legs and torso were covered in bedsores. The bandages covering her body were soiled with excrement. Maggots had been feeding on her body, both in life and in death, prosecutors said. Her bed was covered in the fluids from her body, which had been wasting away over time. The Hamilton County Coroner’s office ruled Jorene White’s death a homicide. The cause of death was sepsis.

Poor doggie. =( It wasn't a story in the newspaper, but a story on the Oprah show. Three children were killed in a van because a semi hit them in the back. It wasn't the driver's fault because he couldn't slow down. Miraculously, about a year to the date of their death, the mother and father had a set of triplets, two girls and a boy, just like the children who had died. I thought it was amazing. http://www.oprah.com/oprahshow/Coble-Family-Miracle

Yeah...the recent news where I am is about a drunk driver that hit a car that killed 3 teenagers, aged 15 to 18. The driver was an illegal alien that survived the accident because he was drunk. Has anyone been denied entry into a country yet for destroying the RFID chip in your passport

Has anyone been denied entry into a country yet for destroying the RFID chip in your passport?
Has anyone been denied entry into a country yet for destroying the RFID chip in your passport? These RFID chips are planted in pets, passports, and soon us. I was recently denied entry by Immigration/Customs of New Zealand apparently because they thought I was going to work in their country illegally, or at least that's what I guess. I was in jail for 2 days and with the flying time plus time zone change the nightmares of interrogation, searching through my journal, my wallet, my tampons, my pockets, even strip searched (bending over naked) while humiliated and tired, went on for 5 days there stuck in limbo of the Wellington Airport of NZ. At one point they wanted to take me to the local hospital to check my insides for drugs they were assuming i was trying to smuggle in simply because I had laxatives in my toiletries. How much power is too much power? Immigration and Customs are harsh and cruel and wield too much power. Period. As an extensive traveler of the world, I fully plan to take a stand against RFID chips because our liberties are taken away daily by democracies every single day. By the way, I'm an American. PJ, you're a pig. A conservative, free mason, reptilian pig. I've traveled 4 continents for over 10 years and I noticed yearly our liberties have been impeded upon. I'm not new to this game. In fact, I'm a backpacking consultant that encourages more Americans to go outside our pressure cooker of a state. You are the kind of people that I run from. I am America. Not you.

I do not have an RFID chip in my passport, so it cannot be destroyed, but I think that you are using "my" and "your" when you are intending reference to a general number of travellers. I know that New Zealand does have strict rules on the importation of many items, and not least drugs. If you are suspected of carrying them, you would certainly be thoroughly searched, and the level of searching can get rather intimate. I believe that NZ Customs are not doing anything that Australia and the UK would not be doing, either. However, the search that you describe is based on a suspicion of attempted drug importation, and does not really have anything to do with the RFID chip in your (or my) passport, or democracy, for that matter.

Not every country is like "America". If you're going to continue to be a globe trotter, you should learn the customs and adjust accordingly. If you don't feel like doing that, then stay in the States where you will only get anal probed when you choose to. OR when aliens abduct you. Whatever. EDIT: I'm sorry, I've got to edit my response. I'm an American too, and seeing this post helps me understand why so many people hate Americans. Geeze, get over yourself man. If you want to carry American custom and laws wherever you go, buy a pocket U.S. Constitution and see how far that gets you... telling everyone else what they shouuuuld be like. You know, like those preachers with tracks and mini bibles? Yeah... like that.
3 :
well as person older than you appear to be and has also traveled and LIVED in more countries than most people can spell......you abide by the rules of THAT country, if you can not or will not then sucks to be you and you should stay at home and whinge about your rights from that place of safety............ There are many rules / laws that are here in the USA that quite frankly I think are odd, stupid or whatever BUT as I chose to be here then I abide by them, regardless of how I feel. It sounds like they pegged you for a mule and good chance that this will happen in the future in other countries, but hey slip into some of the far east countries and then let us all know about your RIGHTS.............so sure as shyt don't have any the last time I was there.
4 :
you'd very likely be refused admission to any country that didn't require a visa. The US doesn't allow people without these chips to enter the US on Visa Waiver. And you might well be refused admission even if you had a visa as your passport would be damaged. at the very least, it would cause you significant delays in getting through airport immigration anywhere, including the US. everyone would wonder just what it was you were trying to hide and whether or not it was really your passport. You'd just ensure that every immigration officer you meet would have lots of questions and would spend a lot of quality time before deciding to admit you. it would be far simpler for them to just say no.
5 :
You gave a nice little rant. Lets take it one issue at a time. 1) RFID chips. You do know almost every country now has these in their passports, right? That if you attempt to get into many countries with a passport that does not have one or have been damaged beyond use, then you will be refused entry. Can you guess what country started all this? The good ole U S of A. They decided this system was oh so much better to use...and to go along with it, had to have fancy expensive machines to read said chipped passports. The U S of A decided to refuse anyone who did not have this type of passport, and actually were turning people away. Other countries then decided turn about was fair play and now require Americans to have chipped passports. Oh it is just disgusting really. It was because of this, that things like having to have a passport to go to Mexico or Canada came about. If you don't like the RFID chip, then by all means fight it. You will however discover you are fighting a losing battle. You will be turned away from countless countries. It must be nice to have that kind of money to waste. 2) You were treated so badly because they were suspicious of you. The fact that your RFID chip was either missing or unreadable probably started the ball rolling. They don't really need a reason to single you out, other than they don't like how you look. I can tell you that this kind of experience is not isolated to NZ nor to American travelers. You would have probably gotten into the country if you had bent over backwards and was super nice and cooperated. Just from your attitude in your question, I seriously doubt you did anything other than give them grief. Go ahead, start your little RFID war. I doubt you will do anything other than waste time and money. Oh and just for the record, I happen to agree with you that "big brother" already has too many means to watch us. But getting a passport is so innocent it isn't funny. You asked for it, filled in the information, agreed to the terms. If you were so insulted to be carrying a chipped passport you should not have gotten one.

First time flyer via connecting flight

First time flyer via connecting flight?
i am traveling to new zealand, wellington through singapore. How do i make connecting flights?Do i claim my luggage and check in again at the domestic terminal in auckland?i have a 4 hr layover in auckland.is there anyone who can advise me on the step of how this connecting flight works? Thanks!!!

in most cases if its the airline they will transfer your luggage to the connecting flight unless its airline that does not have inter-line transfer agreement those would like easyjet, Ryan air, southwest those airlines will not transfer bags to another carrier
2 :
Ok, so I am assuming you are just a transit passenger in Singapore? I have no idea which airport and country you are leaving from, but let's say it's Heathrow in the UK. In which case it goes like this: You check in your luggage when you get to Heathrow. You take your carry on luggage on the plane. At Singapore you are a transit passenger and you don't leave the terminal. You keep a hold of your carry on luggage at Singapore but you don't have to pick up your checked luggage. That continues on your flight to New Zealand. You then get on your flight from Singapore to Auckland. The signs are very clear for transitting passengers at Singapore. At Auckland you pick up your checked luggage. As Auckland is your first port of call into the country this is where you go through customs & immigration. You need all your luggage for that. Second question - are you flying on Air NZ or a star alliance carrier? If so, then the following information applies. If you are flying with a one world carrier (probably Qantas) then a similar process probably applies. After going through customs and immigration you then recheck your baggage at the Domestic Baggage Transfer Desk in the International Terminal. You will receive a boarding pass for your onward flight. (the above paragraph is nicked from Air NZ's website). They then suggest you "Board the complimentary transfer bus outside the International Terminal for a comfortable transfer to the Domestic Terminal". Can I suggest that if you have four hours you may not want to do that? You have an option to walk between the terminals. You will have checked your luggage so that's no problem. Get a baggage trolley from the international terminal, put your carry on luggage on to that and walk between the terminals. It takes about 10 - 15 minutes (about 1km) and is a nice walk. There is a clearly marked blue line to follow. Otherwise, yes, there's a free bus between the terminals. Assuming your flight isn't delayed there is plenty of time to walk.

okay well first of all the best way to get a job is by going to the person of the company and asking for the job because e-mails and phone calls do not work. People that go to the person in charge of the whole business have a better chance of getting a job. My brother he was looking for a job and he kept calling and emailing people and it didn't work so he got so stressed out he tried going the people and the second or third time and he got a job.

PSN not working in New Zealand

PSN not working in New Zealand?
Hi I'm from Wellington, NZ and yesterday afternoon I downloaded the update for PSN and installed it. I knew it wasn't going to be up yesterday, so I waited overnight. When I woke up this morning, I immediately searched the news about PSN and I read that the Network is back up every where in the world. Well I turned on my PS3 and that stupid error code popped up again and it still says under maintenance. I didn't even get asked to change my password or anything. Just that same error code everytime. Is this happening to anyone else in NZ or around the world?

Yeah I keep getting that same old error code too and im up in Auckland. It sucks but im just gonna try again every hour or so. Apparently its been up and down all day, all around the world. The traffic will be pretty heavy as everyone will be trying to go on. So it may actually be a few more days before the network is stable.

should they bring back the rugby league tri series

should they bring back the rugby league tri series?
remember like in 97' it was Qld, Nsw and NZ. The blues won it back then, lets face it aus v nz is a one horse race and the kiwis want more rep games. It will be a home and away comp with 7 games, 6 games + the final. Or just keep it at 6 games and the leader after round 6 is the winner. Sort of work out like this Game 1: Nsw v Qld @ Sfs Game 2: Nsw v NZ @ Win Game 3: Qld v NZ @ skilled Game 4: Qld v Nsw @ suncorp Game 5: Nz v Qld @ auckland Game 6: Nz v Nsw @ wellington Game 7: top 2 play in final if req.

The Super League was a dead set joke, including this tri-series crap. It really should be forgotten about. New Zealand will never compete against the two states again for two reasons. One being that our State Of Origin is firm on tradition and is sure as hell not going to include them into the series and two, there wouldnt be a realistic time frame on the RL calender to fit this in. This many rep players would not depart from their club for such a lengthy duration while the season is being played. Then we have the Four Nations straight after and you can bet that wont be getting changed due to England's involvement in the game- they'd go bonkers. And then after the Four Nations the off-season begins so there's just no way whatsoever this would ever happen. New Zealand gets just as many games as Australia does so why would they feel the need to intrude in on our traditional state v state series "just to get more rep games?" Its pointless. It has nothing to do with NZ. They just need to focus on the international games like every other country.
2 :
No, the tri nations was only brought in to counter the ARL's State of Origin. With the Kiwis as world cup holders it is a bit of an insult for them to have to play state sides in competition. No way would the NRL, the broadcasters or the clubs allow for a comp like this.

New Zealand Analysis for the 2010 FIFA World Cup!!!

New Zealand Analysis for the 2010 FIFA World Cup!!!?
In the last 20 years, Before moving to AFC, Australia would struggle in the OFC playoff qualifying. They would always win against the smaller teams like New Zealand, who had no chance to beat Australia. How ever, the All Whites had their biggest chance to qualify since 1982, having Australia switch to AFC. New Zealand stormed through qualifying facing against small teams like Fiji, New Caledonia and Vanuatu. With almost no competition, New Zealand faced Bahrain in the OFC v AFC playoff, and in their first game in Bahrain, they managed to get 0-0 draw, an advantage heading back to Wellington. Rory Fallon scored the one and only goal (even with a penalty scare) in the match and New Zealand fought for their 2nd ever FIFA World Cup appearance. With a country centered around it's Rugby team, the All-Blacks, it seems that this All-Whites football team has a chance to show the world they are all about football when it comes to the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. Qualification: I basically summed it up in the paragraph above. The team: Coach Ricki Herbert will lead the All-Whites, but it won't be easy, because New Zealand comes into South Africa as one of the worst squads in the tournament. The All-Whites need work in pretty much every part of field, whether its defending to passing to attacking. A few good players on the team don't match up to the problems in the squad, which lack much discipline...and speed. But being New Zealand, they have an equal chance when it comes to physical play. Probable Starting Lineup (4-4-2): -------------------Paston------------------------ Sigmund---Nelsen---Vicelich---Lochhead Killen---Brown---Elliot---Bertos -------------Fallon---Smeltz--------------- Stars to Watch: Ryan Nelsen: The intimidating Blackburn defender will be tough to get past whether it's facing against him or staring at him Shane Smeltz: He will be they key man to look to for goals if New Zealand wants points in this tournament. Chris Killen: The Middlesborough striker can also act as a right winger, and that's good because he is fast. Verdict: New Zealand are no doubt one of the bottom teams heading into South Africa, and they have a dark history behind them too. They did not gain a single point in the 1982 World Cup. Infact, in any sort of FIFA-related competition, New Zealand has yet to win a single game. However, this is South Africa, and New Zealand face Slovakia in their first game, which is not as bad as it seems. Also, New Zealand have the experience of the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup behind them, and only Italy in their group has also made a recent trip to South Africa before the World Cup began. New Zealand are far from expected to make it ou tof the groups, but there's always a time for a surprise! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kF7KkgBK9ow Question: Can New Zealand win a game in the next few weeks?

What do you think of my excerpt

What do you think of my excerpt?
If you don't understand what's going on very well its okay as I only want to know what you think of my writing abilities. Though I will give you a little backstory to work with :) The main character, Jacob, is an abused child with an alcoholic father. His brother was recently killed and since the death things have been different in the family. The mother became withdrawn and depressed and eventually denied the fact that her soon was even dead. She was taken to the hospital and Jacob and his father, Isaac, are just returning home. After fifty five minutes of constant pressure and fifty five minutes of attentive wakefulness Jacob was wrung out and exhausted. He pulled into the driveway and cautiously stopped the truck, making sure that he had correctly parked before easing his foot off of the brake. His father had passed out almost immediately after leaving Wellington, and now slumped against the window in deep sleep. Jacob woke him easily, being careful not to anger the man. “We’re here,” he said softly before nuzzling his shoulder. Isaac woke confusedly, and still slightly drunken, but soon gathered his senses and groaned as he wiped at his face. “Here are your keys,” Jacob said as he took them out of the ignition and threw them into his father’s lap. “Lock the car behind you.” He clambered out of the truck and into his driveway, shutting the door behind him. As he looked up at the house he was reminded of the demon in the window. Nothing was there now besides the blinds behind the glass, partially opened. Where had he gone? Jacob mulled over the question as he stared into his parents’ bedroom through the cracks of the blinds. The pool of vomit was still upstairs; no one had cleaned it yet. Psychogenic vomiting. Could that really be the cause of his mother’s sudden regurgitation? As obfuscating and as convincing as the phrase was, Jacob couldn’t help but doubt. His mother had been so… violent. Her jaw for God’s sake had cracked open, Jacob heard it. And the bile was almost pure black, gushing out of her like oil escaping from the ground. How could such violent behavior be classified so easily as a symptom of mental illness? There was something more to it, there had to be. You’re being overly paranoid Jacob, he told himself. You’re putting too much thought into this thing. I mean what else could it be? That damned barbed wired demon possessing her! That’s what else it could have been. Jesus, she was so evil, the way she spoke. You can’t pass that off as mental illness. You’re reading too far into this. Just calm down and think. Go to hell, he told himself. He entered into the house just as his father was exiting the truck. He closed the door behind him and sat down on the living room couch. The lights in the house had remained off since his last visit, and he sat in the darkness eyeing the room around him as he delved into thought. He felt uneasy, almost sick to his stomach. He was afraid. Not only because of the ordeal with his mother only hours ago, and not only because he feared being alone with his father, but because that thing, that demon was still out there. Isaac came inside, slammed the door behind him, and nearly tripped over the sudden dropping step just past the entryway. He stumbled into the living room with Jacob and sat down in the chair opposite of his son. They were silent for a time, each scanning the darkened room around themselves, not sure of what to say. Jacob was tense, as he always was when he was around his father. He had always been frightened by the thought that he might slip up or say the wrong thing around him. He was always so damned afraid to inadvertently make his father angry, scared shitless in fact. Just being around him made Jacob nervous, no matter what he was doing. He always kept his head low, never looking his father in the eyes when he spoke to him, and he always chose his words very carefully. Now he sat nervously twiddling with his thumbs, afraid of what his father might do. Finally Isaac broke the silence. “So what the hell did you do to her, huh?” His voice was still slurred. “Did you slip her some crazy pills or something?” “What are you talking about Dad?” Jacob didn’t look up at his father; he feared those cold blue eyes too much. “I’m talkin’ about what the hell you did to my wife.” “I didn’t do anything to her.” “The hell you didn’t!” Isaac said as he stood, gained his balance, and dragged himself into the kitchen. “I know it was you, don’t lie to me.” Jacob heard him pull out a beer from the refrigerator and snap the cap off of the bottle. Soon he reappeared in the living room again where he took his spot in the chair and began to sip his beer as he glared at Jacob. “So what’d you do to her, huh?” “I found her trying to kill herself dad, you should thank me for saving her.” Jacob said, still averting his eyes towards his feet where he was nervously pushing his toes up and down against the roof of his shoes. “

go to add work account ... and put in the account e mail address you wish to use sooo in your case it would be your college account ... also if this doesn't work there should be a thing in the set up wizard where you can make your own blackberry e-mail account. if this doesn't help im sorry but i tried oh and about your network connection you might have to try calling your service provider to fix that problem if you don't have the right data plan it can cause some problems. and also ask them how you might go about adding a email account to your phone they usually have tech people who would have the answer for you ... good luck

With the number of NZers unemployed, and the vacancies, (if any) being able to be filled by locals, I doubt very much if a B Com will assist you into the country, or get work in the country for you. The question is asked 3 times; are 2 other members of you family in the same boat?

So i am in the business of buying a good entry level road bike!

So i am in the business of buying a good entry level road bike!?
i dont want to spend a lot of money as in 600 or more, i am new to road bikes, but have been riding mountain bikes forever. I am going to use the bike to travel around town especially on a consistent basis to work and college. So i have been looking around ebay but weary about buying used anything on ebay. So these are the 3 bikes i was looking at, which one would be the best overall value/performace/reliability? Windsor Wellington 3.0 - http://www.bikesdirect.com/products/windsor/wellington3.htm Tommosa Imola - http://www.rscycle.com/s.nl;jsessionid=0a010c451f43dd4193b4458b4a9aba26e07dd922a36c.e3eTaxiMa38Te34Pa38Ta38Tc310?it=A&id=23839&sc=11&category=110 Jamis Ventura - http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=110263980072 i am 5 foot 10 and have a stond over of about 31 and half inches. thank you for the help.

Out of the three, I'd probably say the Jamis is the best for the price. edit - Hmm, I didn't notice the non-carbon fork...That'll be one harsh ride methinks :)
2 :
Hate to disagree with Tom but I'm drawn toward the Tommosa!! As an entry level you have a Triple chainset, (good for the hills) Also you have the advantage of a carbon fork!!!! (this will help dissipate 'road buzz') Being a superficial sort of chap (hey! aren't we all to some degree?) - It is Italian and looks classier!!! Just my opinion mate .
3 :
I've seen the reverse tons of time, a roadie going to mtb's. And they always say the same thing, "I don't want to spend too much..", or "I'm only going to ride it here and there..." What I always say is that you will never regret spending more money. You're going to get a much better bike that will be more enjoyable to ride. Did you see the Kestrel Evoke that they have on bikesdierct.com? That is the best deal on Earth right now! The frame alone is worth $900 more than the price of the complete bike! With that said I would go for the Tommosa out of the three bikes that you have the links to up there.
4 :
Tommosa would be better buy. The company is more reputable and it has better drivetrain than the Jamis

Atheists: Will your own household Pets help to bring about a Biblical-style Apocalypse

Atheists: Will your own household Pets help to bring about a Biblical-style Apocalypse?
READ THE ARTICLE (Source: Yahoo's Home Page) AS IT IS BOTH INFORMATIVE & AMUSING. Polluting pets: the devastating impact of man's best friend PARIS (AFP) – Man's best friend could be one of the environment's worst enemies, according to a new study which says the carbon pawprint of a pet dog is more than double that of a gas-guzzling sports utility vehicle. But the revelation in the book "Time to Eat the Dog: The Real Guide to Sustainable Living" by New Zealanders Robert and Brenda Vale has angered pet owners who feel they are being singled out as troublemakers. The Vales, specialists in sustainable living at Victoria University of Wellington, analysed popular brands of pet food and calculated that a medium-sized dog eats around 164 kilos (360 pounds) of meat and 95 kilos of cereal a year. Combine the land required to generate its food and a "medium" sized dog has an annual footprint of 0.84 hectares (2.07 acres) -- around twice the 0.41 hectares required by a 4x4 driving 10,000 kilometres (6,200 miles) a year, including energy to build the car. To confirm the results, the New Scientist magazine asked John Barrett at the Stockholm Environment Institute in York, Britain, to calculate eco-pawprints based on his own data. The results were essentially the same. "Owning a dog really is quite an extravagance, mainly because of the carbon footprint of meat," Barrett said. Other animals aren't much better for the environment, the Vales say. Cats have an eco-footprint of about 0.15 hectares, slightly less than driving a Volkswagen Golf for a year, while two hamsters equates to a plasma television and even the humble goldfish burns energy equivalent to two mobile telephones. But Reha Huttin, president of France's 30 Million Friends animal rights foundation says the human impact of eliminating pets would be equally devastating. "Pets are anti-depressants, they help us cope with stress, they are good for the elderly," Huttin told AFP. "Everyone should work out their own environmental impact. I should be allowed to say that I walk instead of using my car and that I don't eat meat, so why shouldn't I be allowed to have a little cat to alleviate my loneliness?" Sylvie Comont, proud owner of seven cats and two dogs -- the environmental equivalent of a small fleet of cars -- says defiantly, "Our animals give us so much that I don't feel like a polluter at all. "I think the love we have for our animals and what they contribute to our lives outweighs the environmental considerations. "I don't want a life without animals," she told AFP. And pets' environmental impact is not limited to their carbon footprint, as cats and dogs devastate wildlife, spread disease and pollute waterways, the Vales say. With a total 7.7 million cats in Britain, more than 188 million wild animals are hunted, killed and eaten by feline predators per year, or an average 25 birds, mammals and frogs per cat, according to figures in the New Scientist. Likewise, dogs decrease biodiversity in areas they are walked, while their faeces cause high bacterial levels in rivers and streams, making the water unsafe to drink, starving waterways of oxygen and killing aquatic life. And cat poo can be even more toxic than doggy doo -- owners who flush their litter down the toilet ultimately infect sea otters and other animals with toxoplasma gondii, which causes a killer brain disease. But despite the apocalyptic visions of domesticated animals' environmental impact, solutions exist, including reducing pets' protein-rich meat intake. "If pussy is scoffing 'Fancy Feast' -- or some other food made from choice cuts of meat -- then the relative impact is likely to be high," said Robert Vale. "If, on the other hand, the cat is fed on fish heads and other leftovers from the fishmonger, the impact will be lower." Other potential positive steps include avoiding walking your dog in wildlife-rich areas and keeping your cat indoors at night when it has a particular thirst for other, smaller animals' blood. As with buying a car, humans are also encouraged to take the environmental impact of their future possession/companion into account. But the best way of compensating for that paw or clawprint is to make sure your animal is dual purpose, the Vales urge. Get a hen, which offsets its impact by laying edible eggs, or a rabbit, prepared to make the ultimate environmental sacrifice by ending up on the dinner table. "Rabbits are good, provided you eat them," said Robert Vale.

I could never cuddle up with a hen. I love my cats and doggy too much to even think of getting rid of them. There's always something out there for people to do research on. Poor NZ student financial aid

Poor NZ student financial aid?
I'm a pretty damn poor student in Wellington NZ but don't qualify for a student allowance due to my parents income. They're by no means rich and definitely can't afford to help me out financially. I'm just wondering what other help i can get financially without resorting to a loan? My course is too intense for part time work so that's not an option. The frustrating thing is the fact that i can name over 10 friends off the top of my head that are from extremely wealthy families but who somehow qualify for a full allowance??!?!? Government needs to sort their f**king s**t out. If i do have a computer it must be extremely small as i cant seem to find it.. im using the university ones.

you clearly have enough to own a computer

mmmm. if you take a year off, work, then you can be considered financially independant. your parents income will then not matter, so the government will care about you being poor and give you a student allowance if your grades are high enough, apply for academic scholarships at uni otherwise, get a part time job anyway, do uni part time, get a loan. if the government won't give you money, nobody else is gonna give it away for free.

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF MY SHORT STORY? DOES IT GRAB YOU? HOW CAN I MAKE IT BETTER

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF MY SHORT STORY? DOES IT GRAB YOU? HOW CAN I MAKE IT BETTER?
I couldn’t believe my eyes. How did this happen? This couldn’t be true. The last thing I remember is walking to my cousin, Sarah’s house for her birthday slumber party when my friend, Kylie, sent a text message to me saying to look up because there is a blue moon and I did look up. Straight up at the beautiful blue moon. I was surprised to see it was actually blue! I heard that there were blue moons but they were extremely rare. I smiled knowing I could brag about this for years. I was one of the few people who actually saw a blue moon. One of the few still alive. I stared at it for a few seconds because my neck was getting a little stiff. When I looked down, I was mystified. I wasn’t where I was when I looked up at the blue moon. I was in a completely irrelevant place and it was daylight. My mind must be playing tricks with me because a few seconds ago, it was night. It didn’t make sense at all. I looked up again to see if the blue moon was still there. It wasn’t, instead there was a bright yellow sun staring down at me from the blue sky. I glanced around at my surroundings. I was in a small clearing in a forest of trees that is no where near my home or on the way to Sarah’s. we live in New Jersey and it is so crowded there, seeing more than 5 trees clumped together almost never happens. I told myself that I probably fainted while looking at the blue moon and awoke to the new day. It was probable as I did have a history of fainting but it didn’t explain why I wasn’t in the same place I was before I fainted. I reached into my pocket to get my cell to see if there was any signal. My pocket was empty. I had lost my phone. Great. Now my parents were going to kill me if they didn’t already. My phone could have helped me because it has a G.P.S. in it and now I had no chance but for trial and error. I walked in the direction of the warm summer breeze, knowing it had to lead somewhere. As I walked I carefully took notice of every detail I passed. I did not want to end up doing a full circle. There was more than just the ordinary in this forest. I kept seeing glimpses of small human like creatures with wings flying about. They didn’t seem to think that I was anything out of the ordinary which was really weird because usually all animals-creatures sense strangers and instinct tells them to run away or hide in the trees. I did a three-sixty to see if I was going in the right direction when I noticed smoke coming from someplace to my left. I turned and hiked my way to the smoke. I knew it was a chimney so I could ask the people who lived there for help and where in the world I was. As I got closer, I realized it was a chimney and it was connected to a small cottage. The cottage had a thatch roof and looked like those cute ones in the fairytales I read when I was little. This particular one reminded me of Sleeping Beauty. She also lived in a cottage tucked away in the woods. But she lived with faeries. The thought of faeries sent goosebumps on my arms, reminding me of the strange winged creatures I saw. The front yard looked very untidy with weeds sprouting out everywhere. The grass was tall and there was a fallen tree just lying there as if no one bothered to move it away. A small garden stood out brightly in the yard like how a gold nugget will stand out in the midst of black coal. It was the only place in the whole yard where you could actually see the ground. There was an old man in the front yard of the faerie tale cottage with a gray beard and wrinkly pale skin. He had a brown hat on, a white shirt which was crinkly and covered in dirt after a days hard work, he was wearing brown trousers which were covered in mud as if he had just fell into a muddy puddle. His black Wellington boots were barely visible underneath the tall overgrown unkept grass. He was caring to the garden; pulling out the fresh grown tomatoes and basil. When he finally noticed me, he looked shocked. That wasn’t that much of a surprise. It didn’t look to me at all that this person ever got visitors. I felt sorry for him that he lived so isolated in the forest without any company. I wondered if he still knew how to talk. He opened his mouth, “Come inside. We will have food and tea while we discuss why you are standing in my lawn.” I took a small step back thinking if I should go into the old man’s small cottage. I didn’t know him at all and in this world, you can never trust a stranger. But I was lost in the woods and who knew how long it would take me to get out without the help of someone. I could always run if I thought he was dangerous. He was an old man with all the signs of age and I was a young girl with all the signs of youth well except for pimples. I followed the old man thorough the front door and inside. The old man took of his hat and put it on a coat rack. I stopped in the middle of my tracks and my jaw dropped. OHMIGOD! The old man’s ears were large and pointed like an elf’s! He st

Oh yea very SHORT story!!! I dont think this is a short story!! Well this story is to long i didnt read! but then i did its good just use more voice!

I like it, just make sure to keep the same tense (a few times you used present), also use more sensory detail, the concept is good, just not so believable or relative yet. Keep writing ;)
6 :
um it was ok....personally i try not to incorperate common gadgets into my fiction writing.
7 :
It was pretty good. :D Good jobb.
8 :
its pretty good and yes it is a short story.you just have too many short sentences you need to combine some and get rid of some
9 :
I'm sorry to say I stopped reading after the first paragraph. You're probably not going to like my coments and advice about the writing, but you'll have to learn to deal with troubling coments. It's moving much to fast, I can't seem to grasp onto one emotion. Were is all the detail? what exactly is she feeling? because if this moving to fast, and lack on detail our readers can hardly tell what's going on right now. You need to come up with a more creative begginning. Sentances like, "How could this be happening?" and "What's going on!" are used way to much. That first sentance was ment for your readers to continue reading, but all it really did was make them say, "Oh, it's another one of THESE stories again". I'm not trying to be rude, just trying to prove a point and tell you that in needs more work. I didn't read the whole thing, no that's true, I didn't even read half! But in my opinion, this exactly isn't what you want to happen, I didn't think the story was worth it at the first sentance. People, go ahead and yell at me. I'm reading it as a writer, not a reader. If you want real opinions and advice, people who havn't writen before can't really give you good advice. Enough said, please work on it.

It was pretty good, I was interested most of the time. But the ending was weird...
11 :
my only problem with it was the lack of voice.
12 :
You have a few grammatical mistakes, and, in my opinion, don't say "OHMIGOD!" That is not good writing. The first paragraph did not grab me, but it was good once I forced myself to read the rest. You just need to brush up and edit a bit.

You posted this yesterday, but this time you posted more of it. There are still some tense issues. There isn't very good flow. The protagonist doesn't really have a personality. And I can't really put my finger on what else is wrong with it. It needs work, still. And you haven't really changed the first paragraph.
14 :
I'm sorry. I didn't even have to read your story to figure out if I liked it--it's so long!!! There's no "white space", the grammar is kinda bad, and it seems like you use too many adjectives. The best thing you could do right now, is... make a new paragraph every time the NEXT person speaks. Keep the GOOD adjectives, and don't go overboard with describing. Make it sound old fashioned, flowery, and yet, short. (Example: "he looked shocked"--"he blinked surprisingly at her". That's just an example. Maybe not a good one, though. LOL.) (I need to improve my own writing by looking up all these Yahoo! Questions. LOL) OK, good luck!!
15 :
your little story???Is this LITTLE !!! Honey your story sucks, I liked how you began ,it was really good. WoW blue moon ?How did you come up with this??? but i didn't understand the part where you say she fainted and woke up?? or she had never fainted ??? Anyway keep the begging and start over the rest of the story good luck : )

losing weight and loving to cook

losing weight and loving to cook?
Ok i have quite a dilemma. I love cooking new foods and new desserts that i havent before. Its my passion and i hope to attend a culinary school sometime in the future to one day open my own restaurant. I am also 240 lbs and hating the weight i put on. lets just say a year and a half ago i was 180lbs then something traumatic happened (wont say what) that made me find comfort in the foods i shouldn't eat. I always loved cooking food and i do up until now (it had nothing to do with that event, its always been something i enjoy). i cook for my family and i want to eat healthier but i dont want to impose my eating changes to the rest plus i dont want to stop learning new dishes either. I always find, though, like if i make a cake, that im eating (over the week) a big chunk of it. i dont know how to lose weight without stifling my desire to cook good food. i like vegetables but i couldnt see myself becoming a vegetarian. anyone have ideas for ways to lose weight when dealing with food habits? i get i need to exercise but what about the food and my desire to try and make things like beef wellington or a mousse cake (i really just want to make them to learn more than i want to eat it but then i end up eating it anyways because it would be a waste otherwise). Is there any way i can make the foods i want to make and still lose weight? for instance, i wanted to try making this cake i saw at a pastry shop. now i dont really care tooo much about eating it as much as i care about learning the techniques and doing the sugar work (decoration on the cake). I really want to make it and get the sense of accomplishment from making a beautiful cake but then i think about wanting to lose weight and having to eat some of the cake. what can i do in situations like that?

I can see your dilemma. It's like asking an alcoholic who works at the bar to not drink as much right? Well maybe that's an extreme example but you catch my drift. B/c you want to attend culinary school, you will always be around good food obviously. Now i've never been to culinary school and am no expert but I don't see it anywhere in the rulebook that a chef has to eat all his food! Sure you will need to taste it to make sure it's legit but you don't have to eat everything you make. Another thing is that there are plenty of chefs who are not overweight. I've seen a ton of fat ones but there still are fairly thin ones. They probably workout more and or watch portions. I think the key to you is since you're going to be around yummy food to limit the portions while eating.

Little Tricks To Help You Lose Weight Fast Yeah we all know that we are supposed to cut calories, do cardio and hit the gym to get in shape, but there are lots of little tricks you shouldn't ignore if you want to slim down quick. Good Luck and Take care :-) Take The Stairs Taking the stairs instead of the elevator every day can help you burn some extra calories. It may not seem like a lot but it adds up. Over a period of a year, taking the stairs can burn off an extra five lbs. of fat.

Help needed- Renting in St. Leonards, NSW

Help needed- Renting in St. Leonards, NSW?
Am most probably moving into St Leonards suburb in Sydney. I am moving from Wellington in NZ and looking at the real estate sites the apartments on Seargent St and Herebert St look really beautiful. My only dilemma is that I haven't been to St Leonards so was wondering if you guys could help me and give me some feedback of the area vis-a-vis crime rate, transport, shops like grocery stores, westfield etc. I would be travelling to CBD daily for work (mon-fri) so please do tell me if its worthwhile renting in St. Leonards (looking only for studio apts for myself).. Also, what is the procedure for renting an apartment in Sydney like how to submit application for apartments one is interested in? Can it be done online??

St Leonards is a very nice area, lots of cafes, restaurants, bars, grocery stores. There is no westfield, the closest shopping centre is in chatswood (5 minute drive). Transport is really good from St Leonards, the train to the CBD takes about 15 mins and they come every 15 or so minutes in peak hour. There are also alot of buses that go to the CBD, and buses that go to Manly beach. You can apply for an apartment online, but i would go to a real estate agent, the best way to find an apartment is on www.domain.com.au Good luck!
2 :
I can't tell you anything about how to submit your application, but I live in a suburb right next to St. Leonards. It's a great place - there's a lot of shops there and the closest Westfield is at Chatswood - you can either catch the bus or the train there. It's 2 train stops and the bus would take 15 minutes. There is a train station at St. Leonards that goes directly to the city. There are also buses that go to the city so transport is not a problem here. The crime rate is pretty good in St. Leonards - the lower North Shore (where St. Leonards is), and the North Shore in general, has a very low crime rate, since it is one of the best areas of Sydney. If you're working in the city, St. Leonards would be a great place to rent.

Where in NZ should I live

Where in NZ should I live?
I do not want to live in a big city such as Auckland and Wellington. I want to live in a small cabin, fairly isolated, on a very inexpensive piece of land. But I do not want to be too far away from society, because I will need a job. I want to be...ideally, 5 or 10 miles away from a town. I will probably be a waiter, so I will work at a restaurant, just to let you know. Preferably I would like to live in the woods, maybe near a nice lake to go fishing every now and then. But the main thing is: quiet, fairly isolated, and AS INEXPENSIVE AS POSSIBLE. Know any New Zealand areas that fit this description? Silverraven: Would you happen to know how much an acre of land costs in Wairoa? I know it depends, of course, but for example, how much for your property?

Check around the South Island. Queenstown would obviously be expensive to live in, but nearby you'll find exactly what you're looking for. Give a go.
2 :
i was thinking aukland, it has the best climate, but if you wanna avoid big cities maybe rotorura.
3 :
I have lived in Wairoa for 7 years. Wairoa is on the north Island on the east coast between Gisborne and Napier. It's very isolated and quiet. Lake Waikaremoana is near by.
4 :
Gisborne.
5 :
West Coast of the South Island, Greymouth, Hokitika, Westport or the Buller and Grey districts. It gets more expensive as you head up the Islands and living that close to a town it would have to be a small town, working in small town is not what you know.....it's who you know! Check out the website www.trademe.co.nz (NZs form of ebay) click on the property for sale and that will give you and idea Good luck and if you get here welcome
6 :
Gisborne or Taupo.
7 :
I would suggest the Taupo area, away from the tourist area and go around the sides of the lake from there.
8 :
methven
9 :
I actually think rotorua is the best place. It's not so big. The population is around 60,000-70,000 so it's not deserted like taupo. That's the worst place I have ever lived and rotorua and Auckland are the best places. Rotorua has alot of lakes near by but the houses are expensive. If U want inexPensive it's best to go to crappy toWns.
10 :
Live in the Waikato - plenty of options for living and the lakes are only an hour away. Plenty of work available as well
11 :
Christchurch or Hamilton for work and recreation. But anywhere in NZ is fine. Bon Voyage !!
12 :
I would live in ASHBURTON, in the South Island. We are a small town with good work available, and land is still cheap here.
13 :
the most inexpensive place would be in the southland region, tiny towns called 'nightcaps' and nearby places to there. $20,000NZ it cost my uncle to buy a 3 bedroom house with garage on its own section and there was no crime, if you want to go to a slightly larger town with more restuarants you could live in Invercargill which is also cheap but is big enough to have a mcdonalds in the north island Huntly and Wairoa are cheap, but there are gangs there and youth crime

West Coast South Island for you my friend. :)

Study in Barcelona, Spain

Study in Barcelona, Spain?
Hi, I have been offered to do PhD in economies with the University of Barcelona , University of Sydney, and Vitoria University in Wellington. Which university should I choose? My husband will also be joining me so one main criteria for the choice will be for him to find a full time job as he will be the main supporter while I study. He speaks fluent English, Spanish and Russian and his background is in journalism. He will be able to work unlimited hours for the duration of my studies in all 3 countries. This is something I learned which applies only if you are doing a PhD. Please advice. Tuition in Australia is 30k AUD per year, in Barcelona probably no more that 5,000EUR per year and in NZ 5,000 NZD per year. Thanks.

Well some different factors you need to take into account. Re Barcelona...whilst on the one hand it appears to be the cheapest for tuition fees, on the News this evening, over 17% of the workforce is unemployed (and it's rising), so your husband will find it very difficult to get employment. On the plus side, the life style in Barcelona is very good...the history, the culture, the arts...all in all a very good option, if it was not for the employment factor. Thee tuition fees in Sydney are almost three times that of Barcelona..there too employment is hard to find and...well it's different there. Have never been to NZ, the tuition is quite cheap but not too sure what the employment prospects would be. A difficult decision to make...the best of luck.
2 :
You know, the work situation in Spain right now (in fact, pretty much everywhere) is really difficult! but he sounds really qualified. I'd go for it! I imagine it's a realy good school for economics, (I assume YOU speak fluent Spanish, as I'm pretty sure classes will be offered in Spanish...) ¡Buena Suerte!

Help! SAT Preparation in West Palm Beach, FL

Help! SAT Preparation in West Palm Beach, FL?
Hi! I'm a senior in high school and I'm registered to take the SAT on October the 9th. I've taken the test once, and I got a 1770 (which I consider decent since I had no preparation whatsoever and English is not my native language) I'm looking for a private tutor, or a group tutoring in Wellington or near the West Palm Beach area to improve my scores, especially my math one. Any advice on the SAT prep programs like Kaplan, Sylvan, or Princeton Review? Are they good, or do they just tell you the basic strategies and "tips" for taking the test? I need to start the classes as soon as possible, any help or advice is greatly appreciated :) Note: Some people have told me the best way to prepare for the test is to buy one of those prep books and self study. I'm an extremely lazy person and get distracted easily so this doesnt work for me at all....

Should I choose University of Sydney

Should I choose University of Sydney?
Hi, I am accepted into a PhD Program in Economics with the University of Sydney and I wanted to have an idea about the following: -How much does a family of two need to make per month to live reasonably in Sydney. What are the rents of the apartments in the area of the university. My husband will be able to work full time and I can work up to 20 hours per week. He has a degree in Journalism and speaks several languages but the problem is that his degree is not from Australia and I am wondering what the possibilities for him are. -Do we necessarily need a car in Sydney? How is the transportation system and is it expensive. -How is the healthcare system? I will have insurance through the university. -What is the weather like-too dry, too humid, etc. average temperatures during the different seasons. -I know the situation in Australia like anywhere else right now is tough but will I have lots of prospects as a PhD in the field of Economics in Australian and Oceania, in general, when I graduate in 3 years hopefully. I also have substantial experience form US in the area of accounting and financial analysis. -Another option I have is with Victoria University in Wellington so I am really wondering what to choose. Thanks.

Car is not required - the uni is on a public transport highway (trains and buses abound). There is a clinic on campus and if you have insurance you'll be ok. Temps can be 35-40 in summer, 10-12 in winter. Sydney is a big place and the temps can vary 10-15 degrees in a single day depending on which part you are living in. BUT - noone finished in 3 years unless you work on site every weekend, or at least one in two. 3 years 6 months - 4years is the norm. Depending on where you wish to live - rent could be anything from $280-$580 per week (we pay rent fortnightly not monthly).

does everyone agree once a cheater always a cheater or are there exceptions? and should I leave this guy

does everyone agree once a cheater always a cheater or are there exceptions? and should I leave this guy?
I was seeing a guy for 4yrs we were very happy, didnt think hed cheat on me in million years, then he broke his back and ended up on strong pain killers, his back mended but he couldnt kick the drugs so went to detox for 9 days and started a new job requireing him to be away for 3 months at a time at sea, which was fine we had done that many times and wasnt an issue, he was away about a month and said he wasnt coping and was going to so stay with his dad for a while and sort himself out, that was fine, he needed it, he didnt see how we could be together at this time, a year later we got back intouch and i travelled to go see him and things were looking good i was there a couple weeks, we decided to see how things went and i went to stay with him after a week or so school holidays were due and he was going to spend a week with his kids as he always did and i stayed behind, he got a lift halfways down the country with some friends for cheaper travelling when arriving at his friends place in wellington he got dropped at his friends place for the night and his stuff still in car went on a ride with some guy for 4 days, long story short he was tracking his stuff down for 4 days, all the while partying it up with his mate and on the last night there sleeping with the woman that lives at the house he was staying, before getting his stuff back and going to see the kids, when he got back home he lost his job and ofcourse his work phone leaving him without a phone, so he gave her my number!! dont ask me why, aparently she was a mate, until she told me a few things that didnt add up so i called his bluff, he told me everything then confessed hed slept with someone while being away for work just before we broke up, said he was drunk both times and wasnt thinking. I tried to move past this, but he got a new phone and found he had seen this woman again but not slept with her ans she stole money from him, but theyd kept in contact, after that he promised to never contact her again and things were good for a month or so untill she txted him again asking for his birthday, i read the txts all about how she has ruined his chances of getting rid of me and how she hurt him blah blah when asked he said he wanted her to feel as though she had missed out on something good and wantd her to feel bad for what she had done (when stealing from him) she has txt only a couple times since in the last few months, he hasnt txted her back and i deleted the txts everytime and any trace of her phone number. Am I a total idiot? gullable? I so want to believe him...

If I have learnt anything from glee, (1. people who call other people gay are covering up their own sexuality, and 2. once a cheater always a cheater, and something bad always happens, like you get mono, or pregnanat) then yes, once a cheater always a cheater, but I think it's different with every person x

7 :
The phrase "once a cheater, always a cheater" is a load of crap. People who cheat do so for different reasons. Sometimes, people find themselves in really bad situations, or they find themselves going through tough emotional times, and they just make bad choices. That's part of what makes us human. Now, just because a person finds him or herself in a tough spot, doesn't make the mistake okay. Yes, a mistake is made and even though it's a human mistake to make, it doesn't make it hurt any less. This man hurt you. No matter how sorry he may truly be, and no matter how much he says he will never do it again, it's his task to prove to you that he is worthy of re-earning your trust. Notice what I said there, re-earning your trust. He should know that you're not going to just automatically trust him right off the bat, he has to know he has his work cut out for him. In order to accomplish earning your trust back he needs to make solid efforts. One, he needs to show that he's making strides to not fall back into the dark parts that led him to cheating in the first place. Two, he needs to prove that he has left this other woman in his past.
8 :
Yeah, that saying is true. There's no excuse for cheating. Even if the person is drunk, it doesn't matter. If the person really didn't want to, they wouldn't cheat. If my gf flirted with another guy with no intention of actually doing anything, I would break up with her in a heartbeat.

What to do about flat situation

What to do about flat situation?
My partner and I have split up. New tenants are moving into our apartment in 3 weeks. I am having a really hard time finding a flat, despite being clean, reliable and friendly with great references. I am a student and unfortunately that kinda limits me a lot; no professionals want to flat with a student. But every student flat I see is real partying, weed-smoking, grungy place where I don't think I will be happy / get my work done! I'm running out of time though, and i have been offered a small room (in a place that fits the above description) but I have to sign the contracts tonight. Should I just take it? I am scared I won't find another place in the next 3 weeks, competition for a flat is high at the moment! (Wellington City, New Zealand, bloody housing crisis going on!)

I would think you need to get your degree assessed to see if it is equivalent to a NZ degree. if it is then you get the points. If it is not equivalent, then you dont qualify. See NZQA link below http://www.nzqa.govt.nz/for-international/qual-eval/index.html

Whats bad about my paper

Whats bad about my paper?
So...I'm a terrible writer. For Honors English I needed to write a paper that connects a news article to the book, The Curious Incident of The Dog in the Night-Time Article for the Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time:http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2006/07/19/earlyshow/main1817689.shtml Basically about a boy who's blind that learns how to see with echolocation. My terrible paper: The news article “How a Blind Teen ‘Sees’ With Sound” relates to the book The Curious Incident of the dog in the night-time in various ways. Christopher and the boy from the article, Ben Underwood, both want to be independent and not doubted. They both strive to have they’re abilities used to their full potential. Both of them work hard to get what they want. One similarity is that Christopher and Ben both accomplished something unthinkable and amazing. Christopher found his mother, going through an extremely populated city. He made it into the math class he wanted, and he found out the murderer of Wellington all on his own. Ben can play video games, roller skate, play foosball and win in a pillow fight. Ben is blind, and has been since cancer took his sight at the age of two. Another similarity is that neither of them gave up. For most children, they might give up or be discouraged. Some might isolate themselves or become depressed, but instead they found a solution. For Christopher his teachers and principal said that he couldn’t go into the A-Level math. But instead of just giving up there, he took his test to prove he deserved to be in it. When Ben lost his sight, he worked to compensate for his disability. He learned how to use echolocation so he could be independent. Lastly, Christopher and Ben both had supportive parents. Ben’s mother never held him back, or was overprotective. When most mothers might shelter their children with that sort of disability, and that could harm their learning experience. She let him have independence and helped him have freedom. Christopher’s father was always behind him with any challenge he wanted to take on. He went to the school to plead Christopher’s case to the board when he wanted to take the math class. He fought for custody against his ex-wife, he searched night and day for Christopher when he ran away. Having supportive parents when you have a disability is important so that the child can grow and take care of themselves. Ben Underwood could accomplish much more than any person would think. Christopher Boone knows more than any one could tell. Both of them can have a free life now. It would be helpful if I could know whats bad I'll answer any question in return!...Thank you!
