That's pretty sad but I'm not shocked. I'm English but living in the US, and I read that over here, a large percentage of the population can't even point out the United States on a globe, or something insane like that. People never cease to disgust me.

I cannot imagine a more profound and deeply moving piece such as what you just posted. This is an epic of epicurean delight with just the right touch of curry to aid not only digestion but linger for re taste. Road apples pale to your offerings! Truly a gaseous master! We would bow but perhaps best we maintain a safe distance.

Not really, that's just people not knowing enough about history. You want to see some retarded people? Look at the statistics of how many Americans don't accept evolution.
2 :
Wow. It is the same kind of thinking. It is scary.
3 :
No. This is just result of a poor educational system that I believe is primarily secular in nature. Has nothing to do with religion.
4 :
Excellent question, never thought about that before. I would agree.
5 :
there was a time when the stupid people where how to say this nicely culled from the population by there own stupidity and nature. Now technology has allowed stupid people to live a breed. So people with no commonsense are allowed to live.
6 :
Sounds like the sort of thinking that results in Atheism. Real people and real events are reduced to fiction by people who can't see anything beyond the end of their own nose.
7 :
Did it mention who were polled? It seems to me that the British educational system (whether private or public) is failing its students and graduates in the area of history and literature. I don't think it has anything to do with the beginnings of a religious movement or the organization of a "new" religion.
8 :
With Reagan and Thatcher there was a real push from the conservatives to weaken education. It was cut and reduced to the point that most people no longer have the ability to figure out what the truth is. Dumb people are easy to control. The continued push for Religion into Govt in the USA is part of the same effort.
